We have an extremely successful US-based brand within the Bendon group - Fredericks of Hollywood and we are seeking a motivated, experienced Buyer/Designer to join our dedicated Merchandise team on a Maternity cover contract. Our Merchandise team is collaborative and creative, working in a fast-paced environment and as a business we thrive on a collective desire to succeed.

The role is to bring the “art” to the “science” – using your intuition and expertise fuelled by data, analytics and, above all, a passion for helping our customers whilst delivering target on sales growth, profitability and market share.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building a product strategy ensuring a well-balanced range aligned to the business plan
  • Managing strategies for pricing, margins and competitors
  • Managing financial performance, post seasonal analysis and optimizing stock levels for all categories
  • Managing promotion and markdown price strategies
  • Source internationally for product and brands
  • Maintaining current supplier relations to ensure on time delivery and target margins are achieved
  • Providing and supporting the implementation of business solutions and company initiatives

 

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated Buying experience with some design experience
  • A strategic, long term thinker who can implement merchandise strategies effectively
  • Strong understanding of retail, local and international brands and trends
  • The ability to manage and maintain supplier relationships
  • Advanced knowledge regular use of Adobe Suite, CAD and InDesign
  • Exceptional communication skills with a forward-thinking approach
  • Ability to make decisions, use initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous intimate apparel experience would be advantageous
